Digitizing you Design

First of all, what is digitizing? Digitizing is both a technical and a creative process.  It's much more than most people might imagine - a lot of people think their design will just be 'scanned'.  While the digitizer may begin with a scan or a graphic file, he has to tell the embroidery machine where to put each stitch, and what order to sew your design - including where to stop, trim the threads, and switch to a different color.  Poor digitization can lead to a poor-looking design (as the one on the right), or one that is very hard to sew.  We're sure you'll be very pleased with the results.

Digitizing, or Punching, is the process of converting artwork into a digital code that can be read by today's advanced embroidery machines. This digital code provides the instructions to the embroidery machine's operating system which, in turn, tells the embroidery machine's frame how to sew the design, what color thread to embroider, also when to trim the design.
The word Punching actually comes from the traditional jacquard embroidery machines. The instructions that tell the machine's frame how to move and sew the embroidered design came from a tape punched with holes.
Digitizing, or Punching, is the process of converting your artwork design into a digital embroidery pattern that can be read by the embroidering machines. A skillful digitizing artist uses embroidery digitizing software to interpret your particular artwork design - from either vector format artwork or scanned artwork (.bmp, .tiff) - to a digital embroidery pattern.
Beware of lowball quotes for digitizing and embroidery. As in most things, “You get what you pay for.”

Once you digitize your design, it's yours to use at no cost - forever.

To Digitize, requires an artist’s skill coupled with a precise understanding of graphics, text and imaging. Made In Laie, Hawaii Embroidery, and ID Services, Provides 30+-years of veteran  digitizing and embroidery, We can get it done.

Cost of Digitizing

Digitizing your logo is a one-time charge, much like a setup charge for printed materials such as letterhead and business cards. Once the design is approved, it can be used over and over at no additional charge. The price of digitizing is based on the number of stitches necessary to create your logo. The fee for digitizing is $20.00 per 1,000 stitches. This one-time fee can prove very cost effective for your advertising dollars.
Quick Fact: When digitized for embroidery on the left chest of a shirt, the average corporate logo ranges from 4000—6000 stitches, translating to a $80—$100 setup fee.
