About Us
The Made In Laie website came about in a very special way. Our son, Davis was born in 1999 with half a heart. His condition was so serious that doctors in Hawaii couldn't operate on him. He was then transported by medical jet to San Diego. Since then Davis has had 4 open heart surgeries. After each surgery we came home to a huge pile of bills. So we began to look for ways to help pay those hospital bills. Since I grew up in Laie and knew that there were a lot of Locals out there who consider Laie their home. I thought there might be a market for Laie themed merchandise. And there sure was!
But more than making money this website is also a way for our family to let all the people out there who have helped us know that we are very grateful. Davis is a sturdy happy four-year old today because of all the people--family, friends and even strangers who have stepped forward to help us and pray for us. We are so very grateful to all of you and our Heavenly Father that Davis is here to bless and brighten our lives.
